ABOUT THE PROJECT
I have to say, working with the owners of Birkenstock Midtown is an absolute privilege. And I’m not just saying that because I also work for them! Truly, I’m so glad I got to help them bring a vision to life. This is one of my favorite things I’ve worked on in life, which sounds silly to say about a website, okay, but really I learned so much through this process (first time working intimately with Shopify as a platform) and I got to spread my little design wings.
Luckily, like me, one of the owners, has a real knack for color and wanted to make sure the brand was consistent throughout. I live for that stuff! I especially love the use of photos with the brand palette in this site, as well as the clean relaxed vibe, which makes it even more of a joy to shop!

THE PROCESS
1. Building the Brand
Created a branding and organizational vision and researched color schemes, apps, competitors’ sites, etc.. Made design decisions accordingly.
2. Set-up Inventory
Connected the online store to a third-party inventory sync platform. Formated all inventory, add images, descriptions, tags, etc..
3. Organize!
Set products in collections, set up filters for each collection, organized the navigation to be intuitive, decide on content placement
4. Design Pages
In addition to the usual “About” and “Contact” pages, I also set up a “Shoe School” page with all of the information one needs to make informed purchases.
5. Update Regularly
I’m constantly formatting and adding new inventory a it comes in, as well as keeping the images up to date and seasonally appropriate.
